  : I tend to stay at craibstone suites when out in aberdeen.
  : I chose a balcony room this time instead of the apartment type. Was a smaller room but a bit more expensive. The only thing I really didnt like was the unbelievable smell of smoke in the room. I had to leave the doors open whilst getting ready and I did mention it to reception.

  : The only thing I would say is that the parking is a bit of a pain however you are in the city centre and you don't really need a car

  : The location
  : We didn't like a few things. On booking.com, we entered 2 adults, and it gave us the option at the Craibstone suites of a suite. And we booked a few months in advance for our trip from Australia.Approximately 3 days before our stay, we were called to say we booked a single suite for 2 adults with only a single bed, but we could upgrade to a double bed at a cost.We found this very misleading.It wasn't a simple process on their end of just putting us in the room and us paying the difference. We had to call Booking.com (1 hour on the phone) the staff member also had to check with their manager.This resulted in about 6 phone calls back and forth, increasing the stress level each time. Eventually, we were booked into the correct room, and there was no confirmation email sent either.On our scenic drive towards Aberdeen and stopping at places, we were called at 3:58pm to inform us that check-in closed at 4pm on a Sunday, and how far away were we? (Over an hour away, with another stop planned, we ended up skipping it.) To which she again had to check with the manager, if we could arrive later.This phone call took a while, and whilst we were on the phone, we had to check in with photo identification via email. Our email and text confirmation all state check in between 3pm and 6pm.This is not the staff members' fault. She is only the messenger, and it is directed towards management.I was not happy with the lack of communication that could have been done earlier, towards our stay.Yes, it is very minor overall. But when it's booked, even with a mishap, you set and forget. You just want to enjoy your holiday, luckily we won't ever be back.There are a lot of other options around. It's also full of stairs, no lift if you have heavy luggage, and the bed isn't comfy.
