  : The home was comfortable and cozy. About a 10 minute drive from Borganes for supermarkets and petrol which was convenient, and also within easy access of snaefellsnes peninsula which was stunning. The home is pleasantly secluded within the trees and it was nice to hear the birds singing! The kitchen was reasonably well equipped for cooking.
  : Nothing major just a few little frustrations. We had conflicting check in information some documentation saying 3.00pm, others 4.00pm. We arrived at 4.15 but couldn't get in for about 10-15 minutes as the cleaners were still there. We knew the bedrooms we small and that added to the coziness, but the mattress and pillow were both quite thin so not the most comfortable. It's worth noting all the hot water smelled of sulphur - I got used to it but my wife didn't! I love the fact that it's naturally heated from the earth, but it does smell. I appreciate this would be the same for many or most accommodations in Iceland so not a criticism of Bard.

  : Property very tired looking and old bathroom; loft bedroom sealed off and not enough towels for a 4 day stay as only 1 hand towel between 2 people, 1 hot tub towel and 1 large towel each.

  : Our family is 3 couples (6 adults) and we stayed 2 nights. The cottage was a great match for our needs. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we made all our meals there. We drove here after arrival into Iceland and it was a very manageable drive after a long flight. The location was an excellent compromise for an initial drive after arriving from the USA, and a good starting point the next day to tour Snaefellsnes Peninsula. After our second night, we were well positioned to drive to Golden Circle the next day. We had two cars and we split up while touring the peninsula and needed to call our hosts to get another key to get into the cottage and they were very helpful right away. The cottage was very clean and the beds were comfortable. This could have been an absolutely wonderful stay, but...
  : Two things happened during our stay in mid-June 2022 that ruined our vacation longer term. First of all, the gnat bugs were unbelievably horrible. It was a hot day when we arrived and our hosts opened up the large windows prior to our arrival. The windows do not have screens. The cottage was FILLED with 1000's of gnats when we arrived. Each of us received over 50-100+ bites (we had a contest and each of us counted our bites) and we all killed 100's while we were trying to get to sleep. Once we realized the problem with the bugs we closed up the cottage and it was stifling warm. We had to choose to be extremely hot in the cottage over letting in even more gnats. Our hosts know about the bug problem because it was written as a warning in their information book at the cottage. Forget trying to open windows for fresh air, forget sitting on the porch, and forget using the hot tub during bug season. The bugs were invasive and terrible. The itching from the bug bites was with us from that first night of our vacation thru the entire vacation, and I still have problems with itching after 2 weeks. Second, there are two steps from the porch to the ground in front of the cottage and the lower step is not the same size as the higher step. I did not notice and had a bad fall when I was carrying things from the cottage to our car and didn't see the smaller step and I slipped off the end of the lower step. Just on the ground below the steps there is a very big rock (flat one) and my kneecap hit the rock on my way down. I had trouble with my knees while hiking for the rest of the trip. So the cottage is great, but the bugs and the steps were awful. I know our hosts were trying to be helpful, but it was not a good thing to open up the windows prior to our arrival during bug season.

  : The property was warm, comfortable, clean and well equipped. We loved the remote location but that might not be to some peoples taste. Nearest supermarket is approx 10km to the north on the 1
  : If I had to highlight one thing, it would be the shower. Water hot but shower curtain could do with replacing with a cubicle.

  : The Living room, kitchen area suited us well and the hot tub was brilliant> The location was good for exploring the Golden Circle and Reykjavik was under an hour away by car.
  : The access road from Route 1 was in very poor condition and is quite long so care had to be taken. The steps to the front door had decayed and became damaged at the beginning of our stay but fortunately there were alternatives.
