  : Awful location. Awful staff. Awful hostel(can’t call it a hotel). It was not clear at all that it’s located right in the red light district. This is not advertised. However if you are traveling with a family, it’s not safe. We were followed on our second walk back to the accommodation. The first time we were told it wasn’t ready, which was fine as we were early but I was assured by the lady at reception that we would have a room with a canal view. She then denied it when I went to check in the second time when her supervisor was present. I was surprised at how threadbare the beds were and how tiny the room was. That was due to the deceptive photography where 6 beds with canal view looked bigger but we never got that room so who knows. At this point I was quite upset but the hostel staff didn’t care as we had an awful room and had just been followed by a shady person. They said they couldn’t do anything for us on that day despite us getting off an international flight with 4 children.I proceeded to call booking.com who answered and were very polite but could do nothing for us as they had to acquiesce to the hostel owners regulations. It was my fault that I spent $1700+ for this tiny room in a dodgy part of Amsterdam. I take responsibility for that but in my defense I thought it was a central location and per the photo would be fine for my family for a city break. With, booking.com staff not being able to help me at all, nor the hotel staff, I took to other platforms and saw how I had been scammed as there were still many hotels that were much cheaper, more spacious and in central locations. I checked our family out, we didn’t spend one night there and lost that money. I urge everyone to NEVER go to this hostel (it’s not a hotel). There are really great places for half the cost, family friendly with staff. The transport system in Amsterdam is fantastic. What is sadder for me is that booking.

  : Poor facilities. It has no air conditioner, no fan provided to the room. The toilet smells so bad. Every time we use the toilet, there is an awful smell.

  : No ac it was boiling there was a fan but for the 2 of us it was just too warm

  : Room was smaller than a prison cell, rooms look nothing like the photos advertised, rooms incredibly hot at night, staff were really rude and argumentative, have to leave key at reception when you leave so staff can check your rooms (was told this by a member of staff).
