  : Friendly owners and a very well equipped room, perfect starting point for hiking in the sorrounding mountains.

  : Host is exceptionally friendly and helpful and always available.
  : We did not have a car rental, so it is about a 15-minute walk to town. Still, the area where we stayed is quiet, peaceful and safe. We were allowed use of the back yard.

  : The hostess was very welcoming and helpful to make us feel right at home and enjoy the region. It's located in a very nice neighborhood.

  : The location was excellent and the apartment was equipped well. The bed was very comfortable with very nice bedding.
  : We had trouble understanding the heating system and I think the language barrier contributed to the problem. It was very cool when we checked in and we weren't positive the unit would be warm enough through the night because they couldn't explain how it worked to us. It did get warm enough, so it was alright. We believe the temperature of the water varied due to us and the owners using hot water at the same time. We did have plenty of hot water for showering and doing dishes, but we waited a couple of times just to be sure. Couldn't find any English channels on TV, but it didn't matter much. We weren't there to watch TV.

  : A perfect studio for exploring the area around Appenzell. If you stay longer than 3 days you get a tourist card which gives free rides on the local public transport, 3 cable cars and more. The owners are extremely friendly and live above the studio. The property was exceptionally clean and very good value for money.
