  : The whole place is very well thought out - very new feeling. We booked a 'twin' - it would in fact have slept 4 - there were 2 beds down each side of the room, with plenty of storage space. The breakfast (whihc was available for a long time in the morning) had plenty of choice. Bathroom was basic but clean and efficient. Bathmat was included. it's a bit out of town but very handy for the enormous swimming pool complex of Bayreuth. We didn't use them but there were some outside courts of sorts which we saw families using. The staff were very helpful. there was also plenty of parking space if you had a car. We were on public transport and the walk into the centre of town is about 20-25 minutes, a bit more for the station and festspielhaus.
  : it is a youth hostel but I'd forgotten you have to make your own beds and as we had a quick turnaround time on check in we had to make them when we were tired later in the evening. We also hadn't spotted initially that because we weren't YHA members we'd have to pay 3.50 more per person. And that we'd have to hire towels. Also (and this is minor) there is a gap behind the bathroom shelves so everything dropped through if we weren't concentrating.
