  : Get a key to the main outside door which I was not given. I arrived back at 1 am and could not get in as it is locked from 9 am to 9 pm, eventually after a lot of banging a kind resident let me in

  : The location was good.
  : The hotel was disgusting, there was dog hair everywhere as well as the smell of dog faeces lingering. We were unable to get a refund but they moved us to another property they owned which wasn’t much better but was slightly cleaner. After being told we could get a refund to then being refused one, it was a bit of a hassle.

  : Location was probably the only good thing about it.
  : As a family of 3 with a 9yr old, we chose this BnB for the facilities (bar) and location. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a female in the entrance to the property smoking a joint….! Lovely! When we walked into the front door, into the porch, the smell of dog / damp was unbearable! A young lady checked us in and gave us our room key, we asked about the bar as the door was closed & locked, she said to give the staff room door a knock and they’d come open it for us! When making our way to the room, we were passed by a gentleman on the stairs who i can only describe as a possible vagrant that was using the communal showers! The room, although thankfully didn’t smell, was small, en suite consisted of a toilet and sink, no shower. Directly outside the window was scaffolding, concerning given the window looked insecure. My Husband went in search of the showers to find a room which looked like a bedding / bed storage room with a shower cubicle in it!! By this point, we were all unsettled and not sure if we were happy to stay. We agreed to go downstairs into the bar and chat about our options. We knocked on the staff room door as advised to be told by the young lady that she couldn’t open the bar as they didn’t have the staff! At this point, the lady that was smoking the joint, walked back in and asked if the ‘loo was free’!? We were so upset and annoyed we left to find alternative accommodation. We received a text from the young lady shortly after, advising us the manager (who also ran the BnB over the road), would be happy for us to use the sister hotels bar. By this point, we’d already found alternative accommodation which was beautiful, clean and welcoming! I would avoid this ‘BnB’ at all costs!

  : This hotel was disgusting, stinks and the staff are rude. They didn't know I was coming, some old guy opened the door in a dressing gown. How professional! The door to my room didn't lock, I was a woman on my own as well so this led to me not sleeping. The window didn't shut and the heating wasn't working so I've been ill for a week with the flu. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I've slept on. It was just pure filth

  : Booked a deluxe sea view room with a private bathroom bed and breakfast. No deluxe room no sea view no shower or bath just a toilet in the room and no breakfast.

  : Great location, my room had private bathroom which was a must. Room clean and tidy and was adequate for my one night stay.
  : Check in and check out could have been a bit smoother as no clear reception area, had to phone the number given but only took about 10 minutes to solve.

  : We arrived to be told that we must pay cash as the internet was "down." We did so, paid, and was shown to our room. The member of staff was friendly enough but swore a couple of times which we felt a bit strange but inappropriate for a hotelier to do. When shown our room, we could smell an odd stench straight away. We found mould on the carpets, beds, and walls upon a closer inspection. There was also fairly obvious damp on the wall, which had been crudely painted over as well as sockets that were broken. When we said to the staff member that this was uninhabitable and we could not stay, he was not helpful at all.Unfortunately, we had to book elsewhere to ensure we would not wake up feeling unwell, which would surely have been the result had we stayed at The Westbourne. The fact that this hotel is advertised through Booking.com is frankly a disgrace.
