  : I booked a garden room because I wanted peace and quiet and a patio with desert garden view. When I got there, they had assigned me to a poolside room and said there were no garden rooms available. The room was luxurious but had terrible lighting and an incredibly uncomfortable chair and small desk space and a pool full of noisy people a few feet from the patio and bed. So I couldn't get any of the reading and work done that I planned on doing. The hotel needs to let guests know in advance if they cannot fulfill accommodation requests and get the guest's okay before switching accommodations to something the guest doesn't want. Loved the place last time. Bad experience this time.

  : The tranquility and privacy of the casita where we were lodged. And the friendliness of the staff at reception and in the cafe.
  : We read on a flier given to us at reception that breakfast was served in the restaurant only on Saturdays and Sundays, that breakfast and lunch were "Available in the Cafe", and, most surprisingly, that "Housekeeping and Room services are unavailable". While the cafe is a welcome innovation, it should not be expected to replace the restaurant of a hotel. Guests who are accustomed to and look forward to a full breakfast or substantial lunch will be disappointed by the limited options available in the cafe. While my wife and I can fend for ourselves without room service, we did expect to have our room cleaned, our towels changed, and our trash cleared - especially in a hotel of this category. Perhaps guests are informed somewhere of these gaps in service; I may have missed reading about them. Even so, the management needs to make a better effort to inform guests of what to expect - or, in this case, what not to expect.
