  : The room was spacious and fine for a night. Our bathroom was small but normal.
  : It didnt feel comfortable as a hotel. Felt strange as no one monitored it. We had a problem with the power and it took us awhile to figure out how to contact someone to help. The bathroom in our kids room was split up and the shower was not really appropriate size did a person to use.

  : The Bremen people love to smoke!! I hate it and find that going into bars and restaurants where smoking is allowed/permitted is quite awkward. Each to their own, but I thought the days of cleaning my clothes each time I went out were a remnant of the 80's. But everywhere you walked people, and even young adults, were happily puffing away on the cancer laden sticks. I'm shocked really. Walking from the hotel into Bremen takes you through some "interesting" areas where you'll encounter a number of homeless and street living characters. Thankfully Bremen has a healthy police presence that gives you a little more surety. However, when it's dark, it's dark. The street lighting is questionable and I was on constant alert even during the day. The tram travel is great but why on earth have they not simply adopted a "tap in/tap out" system like most other european countries is beyond me. It's pretty easy to buy a ticket a a ticket machine but only if you can find a ticket machine!! So, what was meant to be a pleasurable trip was let down by some basics that left me baffled as to how a beautiful town of Bremen has gone from a lovely quaint town (Schnoor, etc) to something that is a little seedy in little over 20 years since my last visits and working in the area. Such a shame.
