Bungalow on the lake

Disappointing

  : The kitchen was nicely stocked. The beds were relatively comfortable.
  : One bedroom had air conditioning, one room didn't. We asked for fans as soon as we figured out how hot it was going to be that evening, which the management affirmed they would send over. It was 110 degrees when we pulled into town. There was a roof mounted swamp cooler that couldn't keep up with the heat the first night. A little better the second night after a thunderstorm. We were there for two very warm nights, no extra fan(s) were ever delivered. We traveled on motorcycles, and shared that fact early on, so personally going to Walmart to purchase a fan, and then leave there was problematic. There was a only a 3 person couch in the living room, and there were four of us, two of us 6'2" and 220lbs ea. All of the outdoor seating was broken. The place had a trash can in the kitchen but no garbage bags. We messaged, called and texted the host, who seemed to be a very nice and concerned person, and understanding, but maybe a little distracted as to accommodating us. We paid in full, weeks in advance, so our being there wasn't unexpected. We are experienced travelers with a strong reference of value to dollar. This stay was overpriced for the quality presented. Finally, ClearLake CA is a resort lake destination, as presented, which we planned and anticipated our time there. Upon our arrival, we discovered the lake had been experiencing an epic "green algae" infestation, making swimming or evening venturing into the lake impossible and unsafe, besides the horrible smell of the lake. We found several dead fish on the shore next to the house. As a "Bungalow On The Lake" presentation, without a "lake" to safely use, I feel it might have been appropriate that some communication as to the condition of the lake, and the condition of the property next to the lake could have been disclosed in advance of our stay.

  : I liked the size of the house. I like how the house sits back off the street. I like that the back yard is huge.
  : The house wasn't stocked. I had to purchase tissue, paper towels and soap.

  : Nothing about the stay!!! Again the customer service made the stay unbearable!!!!!
  : The lady Wendy is very rude!!! They will try and rip you off!!! Customer service is very poor. And when it comes time to get your deposit back they will try and give any excuse to keep it. I made sure I cleaned up and took pictures and they still had something negative to say!!! I will never stay there again. And would never refer anyone here!!! Total dissatisfaction!!!!
