  : The cottage is spacious with a large log burner (not needed luckily due to the weather!), comfy sofas and a dining area. there is some outside seating and the kitchen is well equipped. There is lots of space for parking and wonderful views onto the coast. The location is great for both the Fishnish ferry and the Craignure ferry and although it is quite isolated its location it is only a short drive to either Salen or Craignure for supplies and coffee shops etc. Lovely walks available right from the door of the the cottage up the hill or down in Fishnish forest where there is also a wildlife hut you can sit in and watch for Otters, Sea Eagles, herons and a lot more!
  : The description states 'hot tub' but this is not accurate as the cottage has an infrared sauna in the bathroom and a Jacuzzi style bathtub and shower but there is not a hot tub at the site. The wifi connection was good as phone signal is poor up the hill but it was patchy when trying to watch TV/films on my laptop, but there is a TV in the cottage with a good range of channels and a DVD player though.

  : We loved the location. The views were fabulous and the cottage wasn't far from the ferry. Facilities were exceptional with a state of the art shower, Jacuzzi bath and Sauna. There was also a washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer although we didn't use these. Plenty of parking right at the door and Wifi worked well most nights.
  : We were very disappointed at the cleanliness of this property. The washing up bowl and dish drainer were filthy and I had to scrub these before being able to use them. The cutlery and cutlery drawer were also very greasy necessitating me having to clean this too before use. The pots and pans had not been cleaned and there was baked on food on some of the pots and lids. The oven had not been cleaned for a while either and the grease had been covered up by putting tin foil over the bottom of the oven. One of the Bath towels had a suspicious dark brown mark on it too but I always bring my own towels so that wasn't a complete disaster. Also, we had not be warned in the description of the property on Booking.com that the water would be brown and peaty. If we had known this then we would not have booked this accommodation. The colour of the water also put us off using the Jacuzzi as it was not inviting to go into a Jacuzzi filled with brown water! We tried to contact the owner on the first evening to alert him to the lack of cleanliness of the property. I did this via the booking.com app as I always do but I got no reply. I left it another day and so on the third day tried to contact the owner again but still had no reply. I finally got a reply to my messages the afternoon before we left, which was very suspicious to us, and this reply was from Sykes Cottages and not even from the owner. It is such a shame as the facilities and location were wonderful but the lack of cleanliness destroyed our good opinion of Poppies Cottage.
