: The buildings were beautifully renovated, all done by the owners. The owners and staff were very helpful and friendly - advising us where we should visit in the area. The grounds and buildings were all well-kept and clean and tidy. There was a lounge in the hotel where you could make your own teas and coffees.
: The setting was lovely - beautifully rural and quiet, but there was a dog in a fenced run a little way from our bedroom window (I believe it was the owners' or their father's who lives next door). The dog regularly barked during the night, waking us up. Our stay of two nights would have been perfect if it wasn't for this, but two consecutive nights of very disturbed sleep, spoiled it for us. The only other negative was that dinner was a set menu in the restaurant and we were told that the menu changed every night. Of the three courses each night, only one course main ingredient changed on the nights we were there. For example, we had Tuna as a starter one night but then as a main the next. We had a poached fig sweet both nights.

: Bath in room and no proper shower in heat wave and stairs to room not stated on booking.com ( elderly mother in law was supposed to stay in one with stairs but couldnt).

: fabulous hotel. rooms lively although no aircon and we were in the attic room so very stuffy , there is a fan that helped but wouldnt work inthe summer months
: food. had dinner, appetizers not greta. starter ok. main course abs desert inedible . the desert tasted like meat ! so bad they brought us outanother main without us asking but it wasnt great either. cost us 70 each. defo not worth it. beware the honestly bar they charge you 10 a head for a gin no matter the size of the pour ! and tonic on top of that. no choice other than gin or whisky
