  : Location is excellent, a few minutes walk to the Haymarket station, numerous restaurants, convenience stores and Dean Village. Staff were friendly and helpful. I personally loved the red wall paper in the main stairwell and the height of the ceilings in the bedrooms! In the mornings we welcomed the prepackaged snacks, water and coffee/tea options provided in the reception area. I was really excited to experience this property. Seeped in history it offers a lot of character and charm.
  : While the bedroom was spacious and bright it was missing a table/desk and a chair. Beds were older (they are renovating and doing upgrades so this could change). The bathroom was also spacious compared to other places we stayed at however the toilet paper holder was installed directly above the toilet seat so it was awkward to use the toilet. The bathroom only had one towel rack and no hooks for a bedroom that can accommodate 3 people. Sadly I am allergic to mold and to musky smells. Due to the age of the building not sure how they can improve that part, maybe a dehumidifier to help dry out the air within in the rooms? Again, with the renovations they are doing, this could all change. And a reminder, they do not have a lift. We counted 49 steps up to our floor. We were well aware of this when booking so we were prepared and had packed light.

  : Aside from the scaffolding outside nice building but very dated.Aware that it has listed building status.
  : 1. Terrible smell in hallway at the bottom of stairs- diffuser on, was told it was dog tried overkill with sprays lotions no good for an asthmatic 2. Owner extremely rude and told me they didn’t smell the smell. Starting arguing about this with me. Totally unprofessional.Mum and daughter in room 2. Wouldn’t stay again.Nice American Girl working there who was always polite and had a smile

  : Breakfast was mediocre. Our room was behind the kitchen and very noisy. There was trash bins all around the rooms.

  : Fantastic location near to central Edinburgh a short walk to Princes Street and also great transport links. Easy to find. Beds were comfortable and clean as were towels and reception was manned 24 hours.
  : It was pretty dated and old fashioned although clean, the surfaces were marked and there was a smell in the corridors although not in the room itself.

  : Our room smelt a little moldy, the window had to be held open with a toilet roll, the bathroom door would close properly and the taps dripped. There were coffee markings n crumbs from previous occupant
