  : The location didn't look great on paper so we chose it for the price and it worked well for us. Buses near by and as we are good walkers, no difficulty reaching every part of the centre. Close to low end of Royal Mile.Cool old terrace mansion. We had a super big room with very high ceilings. It was very quiet. You don't see much of staff but they are there if you need them.The breakfast situation outlined in other reviews is odd and not environmentally friendly, but I gather the operators are dealing with some personal issues and doing the best they can. This was a good price at the time of our visit and we thought of it as a cool hostel for mature adults. We would stay again.
  : I think the same breakfast items, minus the prepackaging, could be offered on a self serve basis in the dining room without anymore trouble but as mentioned above, there are personal circumstances in play so be kind and just go with it. It's a nice stop. Bonus: Wednesday nights there is a folk music club a few doors down

  : When we booked it on Booking .Com it said there was a full Scottish breakfast but that wasnt the case it was only continental breakfast brought up to your door in the morning,that was only thing letting this hotel down .

  : Lounge was comfortable and welcoming as was the bedroom room and its facilities. Proprietor responded immediately to 1 small electrical situation within the room 10/10
  : No hot breakfast, paper bagged breakfast with paper cereal bowls/cutlery -unpleasant to eat with ! no social engagement with proprietor on departure. 7/10
