Pension Katharinenschule

Pleasant
Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
: nice spacious family room, modern, basic, with carpet though.
: We stayed two nights and never saw any host or service personnel. This place is listed as a Pension but does not offer breakfast or else. To actually have breakfast one needs to walk to the center of the town. ( 10 min without coffee) A lot of information is provided in leaflets. Check in per "vending machine". A coffee machine is available in the common hall but it requires payment (which is fine) but does not inform how much a coffee actually is. (Or I missed the information) Room cleaning only every two days. After all this place is a beautiful facility but due to the absence of any type of host, at least during morning hours. It de gradates itself to a plain RB&B just without cooking amenities.

Wonderful
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: Nice and spacious room with comfortable bed. Very practical auto-check-in system. Easy to park in the surroundings.
: It was a bit difficult to finde the entrance upon arrival

Very Good
Traveller Type:
: Fast self check-in, clean and comfortable room, calm neighbourhood, parking for free in front of accomodation. Not so far from highway and National Park.

Disappointing
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
: Everything was very clean and tidy. The room and the bathroom were very spacious.Appr. 15 to 20 minutes walk to town centre and the sights.
: A room etc. to leave luggage before check in is not provided. When I tried to call before we arrived on Saturday morning to find out if there is a room for the luggage, nobody answered the phone. We had to carry our suitcases around with us until 2pm. The bedside lamp wasn't working. There was no tray with tea or coffee in the rooms. The coffee machine in the communal area only accepted exact change. As we didn't have EUR 1.50 in exact change we ended up paying more for a drink we actually didn't want. As there was no staff around at any time, the place seemed abandoned and didn't make us feel welcome. Usually extra pillows and duvets are provided. There was exactly one duvet and one pillow per person, which unfortunately wasn't enough for us

Poor
Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
: We didn't like anything. We were led to believe it was a much nicer property than it was. I was trying to avoid hotel chains on my trip but wish I had stayed anywhere else.
: The smell is really awful. Parking and finding entry at night is difficult. The shower had a drip and was moldy. We slept in the bed and got out with the sunrise. Also; it's very noisy! There are people constantly moving upstairs and outside the door. This was my worst stay in my eight nights in Germany. I also resent sellers that don't include the city tax with the cost and leave it as a surprise. Only two of eight stays did this and I felt like both were misleading us to try to squeeze a bit extra.
