Holiday Inn Express Exton-Lionville an IHG Hotel

Disappointing
Traveller Type: family with young children
  : The beds were comfortable
: I booked the hotel purposely for the pool. To my suprise when I got there the pool was out of service with no water in it.

Good

: Ant in headboard/wall and into the bed. Let staff know. We moved to another room at 11pm to other end of hotel. No issue with new room. We should be complicated for our troubles

Pleasant

: The location was great, and the pool area was very nice
: Our first room was filthy… The beds were made. But the toilet had pee on the seat and when you left off the seat, there was pee and grossness, so it obviously wasn’t cleaned. The shower floor was stained and dirty, as well as the counter in the bathroom. The carpet had food and was definitely not vacuumed, and all of the surfaces were dirty. It looked like someone went in and made beds but did nothing else and that is worrisome that made me feel like the bedding was not clean and they just made a bed and not replaced anything. When we moved to our second room, there was a horrific order of smoke. I don’t know if they allow smoking in this hotel or not, but it was awful. I had to go out and buy air fresheners and leave the bathroom to try to get some smell out of it. Because I did not want to move rooms again. In hindsight, I should have. The lights in the elevator don’t work when you press floors, the elevator floors have never been washed. The icemaker on the third floor did not work, which is disappointing. Our second room… Was certainly cleaner. But I wouldn’t say it was clean and in the bathroom the ceiling is pulling away and the bathtub looks disgusting as well as where the glass slides. It’s completely dirty and stained. We did not sleep in the beds. We slept on top of the beds. The staff was very friendly. But we will never stay at this hotel again. It was horrible.
