  : I liked how spacious the room and bathroom was. It was very clean and well maintained.
  : The shower door was hard to use and kept opening while we showered so water would go everywhere.

  : Our room was opposite the office,which was dissapointing.The hotel is in an old building,the ceiling shows that it could do with some painting,even though the main attraction supposed to be the painting on the ceiling, but as it is ,looks more dissapointing than nice,as it looks damp. We had 3 nights booked here , on the second morning,at 8 am we were woken up by the sound of drilling ,something like you have when you are on a building site. As we realised ,in the neighbour building which is attached to the hotel, they've started some building works on that morning.There were scaffoldings in place. When I questioned why are we on a building site the guy who said that he is the Manager said "What should I do We didnt know that they will start the works,nobody told us" Really? Shouldt they question the neighnours what are they intend to do having scaffoldins up?And not book paying guests for the time when the noisy works are on. We wont come back here not recommending this hotel,specially as there were a few dubious looking ladies on the hotel's street in the evening.

  : - The apartment was very spacious. We had separate bedrooms (one of our travellers was a heavy snorer so being separated was very nice), a lounging area with a TV, a large dining table, and a kitchen/laundry area. - We had a functioning washing machine so we could catch up on some laundry. We were staying for 5 days so it was nice to offload the dirty clothes before we left. - The Novella House was only a five minute walk from the SMN train station. We arrived by train (and would be leaving the same way) so it was important to us that our accommodation was nearby, especially since we had multiple luggages. It is also close to other attractions in the city. The Duomo, the Arno River, the Uffizi and the Academia were all a 10-15 minute walk from the Novella House. There were a few grocery stores within a comfortable walking distance. - The facilities worked well for the most part. The bathroom had a fan, the air conditioning (there was 1 unit in the main living room area and one in the bedroom) was easy to use and control, and the fridge/freezer was functioning (even coming with a fair amount of ice cubes).
  : - The most disappointing aspect of our stay is that the house was located next to a shelter. We were completely unaware of this. It is never mentioned in the accommodation's description or in any of the reviews. This is not something Novella House can control however it would have been nice to know this information beforehand. We were located on the 4th floor and our windows had a direct view into people's rooms, and they could see into ours as well. There would be very loud noises/screaming at night which would keep our guest awake (she slept in the living room bed so she heard everything. The separate bedroom did not hear these noises). - The toilet was finicky. It would flush no problem but if someone used it a couple minutes later it would choke. We would have to wait 10 minutes before trying to flush again. This was inconvenient. - The apartment didn't look like the pictures on Booking.com, and we felt misled when we arrived at our room. There was no terrace with a view of the Duomo. The bathroom did not have the rectangular, glass panelled shower, or a large sink basin with a counter. Instead we had a very small shower, and a very small balcony with no view (only of the building walls). I understand there were different rooms with different layouts, however I thought I was paying for a room with a terrace/view and a large bathroom. It was disappointing to find out that was not included. - Bath towels are not changed daily, however we were able to message the staff on Whatsapp and ask for new ones a couple days into our stay. - There was a musty smell that came mostly from the bedroom. It may be due to the antique furniture but regardless it was quite noticeable and off-putting. - Also, the mosquitoes are incessant. They are everywhere in the apartment. We could not keep the windows open to air out the musty smell because the mosquitoes would fly in. Not necessarily Novella House's fault but a screen on the windows would be nice.

  : The location, the recommendations for places to eat from the staff, bed was comfortable, fresco ceiling very beautiful and unique. The little kitchen facilities were nice to have
  : The bathroom door was difficult to close/open, the sliding door on the bath/shower didn't work so the bathroom floor got soaked every time you used it. We didn't get fresh towels until we asked. The hotel itself is loud, you can hear other guests coming and going (maybe because we were on the ground floor by the street). There was loud construction noises starting at 8am everyday we were there meaning sleeping in late was impossible.
