  : Calm place, perfect to take a rest after trekking. Bit away from busy Funchal with local atmosphere and great pubs around. Landlady is very nice and she welcome us with delicious bananas. I would definitely come back there!
  : Everything was perfect, just kitchen could be better organized. But for those who do not need to cook a lot, Ignore this comment :)

  : The place was incredibly hard to find, i would recommend to use some sign with the nmst of the appartment.

  : The apartment was big and the building itself is nice. The location was a bit outside of Funchal in a quiet area and only a 15 minute drive.
  : The day before arrival the owner asked our arrival time. We arrived 10 minutes before the stated arrival time and couldnt find the building. It wasnt clear which one it was as theres no sign. We tried to contact the owner by both message and calling via the numbers provided on Booking.com and had no answer or response. After an hour of trying, we then felt we had been messed about and called booking.com for help. The owner then called on a different number and said he wasnt home and would be there in 10 minutes. 25 minutes later he arrived, after us waiting 1.5 hours to check in! The owner couldnt understand why we were so stressed and tried to joke it off, then said we need to relax as were on holiday! He then made an excuse of his car having problems but didnt let us know this! When I said that we gave him our check in time and why he wasnt there, he said no one ever turns up at the stated time, so usually leaves it a while! This is not good when we wanted to check in after a long day and had reservations!Although the owner advised that we could book car hire, transfers or excursions through him using cash or card, payment for the room had to be cash! He refused to take card payment and we had to draw out cash and got charged for it. The room at first looked lovely but then we found issues as we looked around. The windows didnt even close let alone lock, and only an insect screen which could have easily been cut. This made us very nervous about leaving valuables in the room. The curtains didnt even cover the windows or door so we had no real privacy! We couldnt use the microwave in the kitchen as it wouldnt reach the two plugs that were below the shelf, so had to use this on the dining table instead in a different room. The whole apartment smelt musty and felt damp, possibly from being left over the winter period. During our 5 days we didnt get fresh towels at all.

  : Very large bed and room. Communication and accomodating to our needs was excellent! Thank you Joana!. Access to main roads to explore the island.
  : Room needs a fan as it gets uncomfortably warm even when doors and windows open (on the other hand, with windows and doors open, you are left exposed to mosquitoes). Bathroom needs some ventilation Street parking can be tricky if youre not good at hill starts.
