  : I liked the location regarding the view and quietness. I Like the hotel in general, rooms were comfortable, pool, jacuzzi and other facilities were good. breakfast was good and we had dinner once there and it was nice too. Reception staff good and helpful.
  : location wasn't ideal without a car, near enough to the center but it is a very steep hill which means minimum it would take 40 minutes just downhill and not easy on the knees. Hours for breakfast and pool service do not really cater for early risers going trekking My main reason to give not a great review was an incident that happened one of those mornings. We were going for a levada nice and early and since breakfast starts at 7:30, we came downstairs at that time just to take a couple of pastries to bring with us as we already had sandwiches for lunch. We were told and not in a very nice way that we needed to eat the pastries right there and that we could not bring them with us. And advised that if we wanted lunch food to go we could pay for the lunch box. 1st we didn't want a lunch box as this was just something small to take with us, secondly I think they forgot we paid for breakfast with the room. I thought it was mean and unnecessary and not expected of a 5 star hotel. Only for this experience I would not recommend the place. Luckily enough our experience in Porto Moniz was quite different.

  : Good location, with parking. Nice views from the top floor balcony. Staff on reception were welcoming, and the bar staff were very polite and helpful. Beds were very comfy, although bedside lighting in room is far too bright. Breakfast was good, although they cant seem to buy a new toaster, which is broken.
  : The mini bar was broken, the soundproofing is not up to scratch as we could clearly hear the people next door talking, the sliding doors are way too noisy and its not as good as you would expect sadly. Breakfast staff a little rude and they have fois gras on the dinner menu! A big NO.

  : hotel very modern and antiseptic -
  : dreadful location, on steep road, no information given by reception at to how you got around if you didnt have a car. I booked a superior room, the room was large the terrace was open to the public and was not private. The bathroom was very dated. No gardens or grounds to sit in, just a pool area the was right next to rooms given them no privacy. I was booked to stay for 11 nights and paid in full, unfortunately due to a family emergency I was called home and only stayed for 2 nights. The hotel refused to refund any money paid and although the hotel was practically empty they decided that they would charge me the whole amount . I understand hotel have booking policies and if this had been a busy time and I had taken up a room that could have been let then I would have understood,. I offered to pay a cancellation fee however they decided that they would charge the full amount, therefore I paid 1580euros for a 2 night stay. They blamed booking.com saying they wouldnt refund the money, I know this is not true. In my opinion the owner ( who I never saw) is a crook. Apparently it was his decision not to refund any of the money paid according to the staff on reception.

  : Many amenities not well maintained, like spa area not having work jacuzzi at the time, the restaurant being not too great either.

  : Friendly and efficient staff,cleanliness,great food at reasonable prices. Courtesy bus to centre was good. Spa and roof terrace.
  : No tea and coffee facilities in the room
