Offering panoramic views of the Dachstein Glacier Gasthof Gosausee is directly located on the shore of Lake Gosau. The on-site restaurant serves Austrian cuisine and fish specialities. Each room is equipped with either carpeted or wooden floors a flat-screen satellite TV and a seating area. Some rooms come with a balcony and views to the lake and the Dachstein mountain range while rooms without a balcony do not feature lake views. In summer guests can enjoy their stay at the beer garden on the terrace.

A breakfast buffet is offered in the morning. A ski storage room is provided at Gasthof Gosausee. A ski bus taking guests to the Dachstein West Ski Area (1 km away) stops right in front of the building. Cross-country ski runs are 5 km away. A diving club is situated directly at the hotel.

Lake Hallstatt is a 20-minute drive away and the centre of Gosau can be reached within 10 minutes by car. Free private parking is possible at the guest house.

: Best location possible. Walk out of the front door and you would see the best part of gosausee. Dinner and breakfast are decentway better than what I'll expect in such a remote place

: I have stayed here two times in the last two months and the reason for my return was because of the staff and the location. Gosausee and the Gasthof is a beautiful and compact place to escape to from Linz, Salzburg etc. The Gosaukammbahn is great (with a small discount offered by staying at the Gasthof!) I also recommend walking around the lake and taking your time. Breakfast is the usual buffet but with choice of eggs extra (included) plus tea/coffee. The evening meals are great and they offer typical Austrian dishes plus some local and non-Austrian options to cater for all tastes. The rooms are great (I had a side room, non-lake view) and whilst obviously a little darker, I still had a beautiful view of the mountains next to the Gasthof. Bathroom small but functional and nice heated towel rail. David, Christos and all the staff always make you feel welcome and they remember faces. I look forward to my next visit very much.

: The location was great. The dining room with the view was fabulous. The smell of the wood in the rooms was so nice. Staff seemed friendly
: The shower didn't drain and leaked all over the bathroom. For the price, they could have added things like water glasses in the room, hooks to hand towels. The room was cold. Heater didn't work even after they tried to fix it but at least they have us a small portable heater. Breakfast was very very basic, bread was a little stale. They wouldn't accommodate non dairy options like oat milk for coffee. The coffee in the morning wasn't even that great. It's a nice place but way too expensive for what you get.
