  : I like the staff, and the how the hotel kept it's historical value. John Wayne room is a fun fact of history.
  : This is not the hotel's fault. But Google maps and Booking should really explain that Kings Canyon National Park is 20 minutes away, but Bishop, Independence, and Lone Pine are actually 5 hours away from access due to the mountain ranges. You have to travel south through Bakersfield, then head northwest to Fresno/Hume. Very deceiving.

  : It was super clean and a comfortable bed. And the young man at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
  : You have to know that this is a historic hotel, beautiful in many ways, and a really well preserved 1930s vintage property. However, with that comes 90 years ago comforts such that many of us might miss our modern comforts. I certainly miss good air conditioning.

  : The lobby is marvelous, a place out of time. The rooms have central AC, so no noisy on-off during the night. Comfortable bed. The concierge told us that the hotel was built in the 1920's for the film industry.
  : The rooms are old, bathrooms probably are pretty much as they were when the hotel was built. No microwave of fridge (I didn't miss the TV).

  : Antique furniture and lobby may be attractive to some.
  : What was acceptable in 1920s, when this motel was build, is not acceptable now.It lacks the most basic necessities that even cheapest motels now have: no AC, no fridge, no TV.Separate cold and hot water taps! You have a choice of washing hands with ice cold water or scald them.Add a nomination for worst bed mattress ever made to support your insomnia, and you will have an unforgettable stay.

  : Employees were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were simple but clean. Price was acceptable for the location. Building was beautiful and historical.

  : These folks are just getting started renovating this sweet old hotel. I love the woodwork in the lobby, it shows the potential for this place. Good location to visit Manzanar.
