  : The house was lovely and clean and tidy, with a lovely separate sitting room. The little gifts of local chocolate, jam, marmalade and chutney was a lovely touch. The bedding and towels were lovely and the rooms down stair were decorated for Christmas which was fabulous. The views, especially out of the front and over the snow covered hills and mountains was lovely. The weather wasn't kind enough to us for us to be able to sit out at the lovely bench on the patio area but it was lovely to sit at the dinning room table and watch the pheasants and sheep in the field above the house.
  : The only drawback was that we were cold in the evening, the electric heating is on a timer and even with the booster on it was quite chilly at night and especially on our first day. We misread the information in that we thought there would be logs at the property for sale for the fire, not realising it meant to buy them from the co-op in Hawkshead. But once we'd used the log and kindle left for us, we were cold that evening. In winter you would need a bag of logs to keep you cozy for 2 nights, if like us, you like being warm. The bedrooms were cool, especially on the first night, but the bedding was gorgeous and we soon got warm and snuggled. I would also just say that the entrance off the side lane into the back of the property and then the next gateway are both quite tight, especially when arriving in the dark. I am glad we came in the car and not my van. However, we had an excellent time
