  : Anvil Lodge is set in a lovely quiet village, though so quiet my 14 year old son and I didn't even want to venture to the local pub for a meal. The main reason for our stay was to take our pups who are just one and get them out of the city. There were some lovely walks around the village which are quite achievable. We had a day to the coast, and the rain stayed off for us mostly. The cottage itself was perfect for us, though the dog beds didn't really have anywhere to go, our dogs are big, so they were a little awkward to manoeuvre around. The shower was fabulous, everywhere clean and tidy. A gift awaited us on arrival and a garage full of goodies to entertain us. The garden was great to let the dogs run off some steam.
  : The garden, though great, was very water logged at the base of the lawn due to heavy rains. Luckily, I had taken a lot of towels with us, and a handy hosepipe was available to clean the dogs down. None of the takeaway menus available in the pack would deliver. The extractor fans in the bathroom could use a good clean and the towels tumble dried for guests. These were scratchy and stiff. The pool table in the garage was unusable as it wasn't flat, and the balls rolled around.
