  : The check in was smooth and fast, the owner was very nice and even provided us with a kettle that we could use in our room.I found the place very clean, the bathrooms are cleaned during the day, too.The location is perfect, close to many restaurants, supermarkets, shops and public transports.
  : What really was unbearable for me was the constant noise. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin, so you will hear everything during the day and night.They also have late check ins possible, which is very positive for many travellers, but not so great for whos already in. I think 3 nights out of 4 there was a late check in in the room next to ours, so the new guests will ring the bell, talk, sort out their stuff etc. even if its late. This is not the owners fault, but when the walls are so thin, it kinda becomes your responsibility towards the other guests.I would probably recommend staying here for one night or two.

  : In a desert of overpriced accomodations Hostal Arrate is an oasis of friendly and reasonably price. Accomodation was like my first place as a student, but the friendliness was honest and perfectly clean
  : People and location, there is everything for any food within walking distance as well a the Metro

  : Very friendly classic, old-fashioned Hostal. It has everything you need and is well communicated, exceptionally clean and good value. It is run by a couple who could not be more helpful and welcoming. Yes, it is a little old-fashioned and quirky (1970s blue bathroom suites are something even hipsters haven't rediscovered yet!) but if you are busy out in Madrid all day and want somewhere functional at a great price, near a Metro in a nice residential area of central Madrid, look no further, this kind of place used to be so common but is now a dying breed. Save yourself a lot of money and spend the difference on going out! That's what Madrid is all about, after all. This is also a great location for anyone visiting the University.

  : This was good value for money accomodation close to the easy to use metro. It was very clean even though the bathrooms are old style with shower over bath. There was a lift to get your bags up to the floor where the Hostel is. Friendly staff. Ok to find with the help of Google Maps- keep an eye out for the small Hostel sign that is attached to the building the hostel is in!

  : It was exactly as advertised - both the single and double rooms were comfortable, roomy enough and clean. Mary was a wonderful host and was so helpful! Someone could answer questions at any time. The hostel was also quiet - no loud guests and no loud noises overnight from outside either. Very convenient location close to the Isla Filipinas Metro line 7. Lots of food, drink, stores nearby. Close to Parque del Oeste.
  : The shared bathrooms had tub/shower, toilet and bidet and sink. They could have been a little roomier, but they were good enough for our needs.
