  : We loved the location, in a quiet country village - I was back (from Liverpool!) in the county of my birth. There was a real sense of history in what was clearly an ancient establishment. The staff were warm and friendly throughout our brief stay. The breakfast was delicious, and personally cooked for us by the owner. Also enjoyed and savored the local gin (not for breakfast)!
  : The room was up a couple of flights of stairs, which we'd either not been told, or failed to realise. It was a struggle with a heavy case, Nothing could be done about that, but maybe there should be a note to that effect? Being 'burger night' the evening meal menu was somewhat limited; and we were surprised to find that a 'full English' breakfast was literally just that! I.e. no fruit juice, cereal etc. But for the price we paid, and the quality of service, it was all worth it.

  : The breakfast was quite good though not up to expectations for 110 a night and the toast was on barely toasted white bread, instead of wholemeal bread. There was no cereal or fruit.
  : The place was rather run down and dirty in parts, including a dead mouse outside the back door.

  : The entrance to the bedrooms was outside up a staircase. This area was very badly kept. There was wood stored under the wooden staircase and dustbins in the same area not very tidy and other mess. There was also a very smoky and smelly extractor fan belching out. This did not affect the bedrooms as they were on the other side of the building but the approach up this staircase was appalling
