: Perfect location in glorious countryside. Nice rustic ambience. Lovely magical walk nearby by protected water meadow.

: The Wagon House is part of a working farm and is set in an exceptionally beautiful location at the edge of the Quantocks. It is also near the West Somerset Railway, a heritage railway that operates trains drawn by former GWR steam locomotives (Prairie tank and Manor class). The shriek of a train's whistle echoing from the hills was a feature of our stay. There are many interesting villages and sites to visit; we saw a herd of red deer on Bicknoller Hill; and were given a tour of Halsway Manor, a Folk Music Centre. We also visited Bicknoller, Stogumber, Crowcombe, Dunster (and beach), and Minehead. The houses and churches are built of the local red sandstone. In all we had a wonderful time, helped by some excellent weather. Though carless, we travelled about easily with the help of the 28 bus service, which operates along the main road from Taunton to Minehead (A358). The cottage was comfortable, had excellent modern facilities, while preserving some of its former rustic character, and our only complaint was about the loo, which worked erratically.
: As said above, the loo was temperamental and at times refused to flush: we had to resort to pouring buckets of water down it.
