  : Lovely grounds, great bar area, friendly staff, all-in-all a great old building with plenty of character, comfy bed, nice breakfast, good price what more can be said.
  : Maybe the ceiling paper could do with a bit of repair and paint, but they are great high ceilings and that is nit picking based on the age of the building.

  : From checking in the receptionist was so friendly and welcoming. That carried on through our stay. Lovely building. Beer prices ok. £5.25 for a premium beer. A nice relaxing stay. And we will return. Thank you so much.

  : Beautiful historic building, staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful. Food very good. Grounds very nice & country park location. Comfy bed.Bar area, gallery & lounge so historic & attractive.
  : The bedroom, Alexandra room, was tired, bland, bare walls. Worn, grubby carpet, worn out scratched dressing table. We got the feeling that this place is struggling a bit, needs money spending throughout. Many window frames are rotten around the building & weeds, etc in gardens. Sad, really hope someone can invest in it.

  : The location was very good and it was good to have parking with easy access to the hotel. The room was good and the view to the garden was beautiful. The bed was comfortable

  : Its an old Hunting Lodge fit for Royalty and the interior reflects its previous history. Still surrounded by plenty of woodland the location oozes an atmosphere of times long gone.
  : The property and rooms were fine and very comfortable. I would have given a higher rating but for the breakfast we had each morning. Although the Full English was hot enough, the bacon had been on the grill too long and was very hard. This happened on both occasions. That alone would have been not important but the flask of coffee was tepid. Upon politely pointing this out to the solo waiter, it was quickly changed for another flask.. which was also tepid. I tried tea the next morning as it was made with an urn of hot water, except there was no English teabags. I settled for Earl Grey instead. Its such a shame that a poor breakfast experience , reflects back onto the stay, but if you are paying full wack prices, it should be good and not mediocre. We will return but just not pay for a breakfast.
