  : The overwhelming peace was astonishing and very, very welcome. Given the close proximity to the public beach (via the beautiful hotel gardens and through a secure, gated entrance) and the large number of people enjoying the beautiful bay, the clear blue sea snd of course the sunshine, it was indeed a surprise to us how quiet it was. Despite my reservations about the surrounding area (in terms of the pay off between proximity to the sea and therefore high level of tourism), it really was a very enjoyable and relaxing break. The surrounding shops are not intrusive, the Gelateria opposite the hotel is superb and there is an overwhelming sense of safety and friendliness in Peguera.The level of service and attentiveness by staff at the hotel, especially the Concierge was exceptional.One person in particular needs a very special mention and that is PACO, THE MATRE D at the Seaside Grill. He is simply the finest Matre D we have ever encounteredattentive, intuitive, friendly yet always retaining the highest level of professionalism. The food here is superb, certainly Michelin * quality but at very affordable prices.
  : This is categorised as a 5* hotel. It is difficult to compare star ratings of hotels between different countries but in UK terms at least, I am not sure it justifies the 5* rating overall. Many aspects of the hotel are very good snd I can see why people return. We stayed in a junior suite with ground floor terrace in the tower and in my view was ideally located. However, what lets this hotel down is housekeeping and general maintenance.Bed linen very clean as it the room but towels, whilst freshly laundered are showing signs of wear and could do with replacing. We had Room 102. We suffered badly with leaking air conditioning units which left us with 2 nights of water persistently dripping on the floor at the foot of the bed necessitating our towels to be used to prevent flooding. Whilst very clean, the shower unit is in desperate need of repair and decoration snd door seals replacing to prevent further flooding in the bathroom.There are 2 resident restaurants at the hotel which are open for dinner in the evenings - The Seaside Grill which is exceptional and Gohan which requires a lot of work. It lacks any atmosphere, it feels like you are eating in a storeroom and the menu needs greatly enhancing. The menu effectively offers just 3 main dishes - rice and noodles. You enter the store room line restaurant expecting teppanyaki but what appears to be plates for cooking are not used snd the food is cooked away from guests. It is completely soulless and overpriced. Such a shame because with a little imagination, a far more extensive menu and a great big dose of atmosphere, it could be a very interactive and enjoyable dining experience.

  : Breakfasts good but bar / restaurant food not great. A five star hotel should aspire to something better than frozen calamari, tinned tuna and chicken slices. Expensive too!

  : The room was well appointed in every way- spacious and tasteful with a large double bed. I wont itemise the facilities but everything worked efficiently and the shower was highly effective and always hot. The small outside area had a table with two chairs and a hot tub. This was a feature of the seven rooms in this location. We very much enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the World Caf which offered great variety and excellent quality. Attentive staff kept tables cleared and were always at hand to assist and welcomed guests in a variety of languages. As the weather was still quite mild it was wonderful to be able to start the day at a table on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Im not sure of the occupancy rate when we stayed but it was always possible to find peace and quiet as there were numerous outdoor seating and sunbathing areas in addition to those adjacent to the pool. On a grey, damp morning I snuggled into a comfortable sofa in the Piano Bar to read and daydream and visited the adjacent library which was a intimate space.
  : Whilst we understood the hotels need to recognise members of Secrets loyalty scheme and differentiate Club level, it was a shame to hear some guests referred to as preferred which almost felt as through the rest of us were less deserving. I am a World of Hyatt member but did not seek any special treatment.

  : The staff were very rude the food in the Cohan was terrible the parking was poor and not secure and they damaged my hire car no security cameras in the parking and also left in car park unlocked
