  : We had a lovely stay at Estalagem. There was ample facilities for rest and relaxation, and there was also activities and events that guests could join. There is a beautiful bay nearby for swimming and some places to eat and drink. Plenty of spaces to park nearby.
  : The bar is a little expensive compared to local restaurants, but this was acceptable. And you have to take a lift to get in and out of the hotel (which is only a problem for people who do not like lifts!)

  : Setting and amenities.
  : The treatment at reception is always a bit erratic. We did receive a warm welcome, but every other interaction thereafter left much to be desired. Two examples, 1) I sought help concerning a restaurant matter. The receptionist just raised her hand and said ask there pointing at a waiter passing by.2) Checking out with a middle aged gentleman was unpleasant. No communication, eye contact or best wishes to see us off on our way. Not what I expect from the hotel industry, let alone a 4 star.

  : Hotel is in a fantastic location and our room overlooked the cliff with stunning sea views and the sound of waves. Excellent breakfast and food and the pool bar is also an honesty bar when not manned and also has a terrace with awesome views. Excellent food in the restaurant and makes for a romantic meal when eating on the outdoor terrace sea views to the sea and town below. Lovely pool area with amazing sea views. View included dolphins one morning. The hotel puts on live music events where non-residents can attend. Makes for a great atmosphere but it does get busy and it also means you cannot eat in the outdoor restaurant area and getting served at the bar becomes a real challenge. A lift takes you down to the town and it then a short stroll to restaurants, bars and the beach.
  : On the day we arrived whilst there were sunbeds available there were not enough cushions for the sunbeds. The bar tender when asked about this then simply removed towels from sunbeds that had no other personal items and passed the cushions to other guests to use. Service in the bar can be slow at times, especially when there are live music events in the hotel.

  : Location and stunning views. Clean crisp rooms, pool facilities, food was superb.
  : A lot of rooms side by side meant some privacy issues particularly outside.

  : The cliff side location is beautiful and the village of Ponta do Sol is very pretty. The rooms are big with great views, pool area is big with lots of loungers and the overall feel of the hotel is very chilled and calm

  : The setting is beautiful and quite different. Going up in a lift, crossing a little bridge to get to reception then up another lift and crossing anther bridge to another lift to get to your room is a little adventure of it's own. All made very easy. There was a wonderful bubbly lady along with the rest of the team ensuring that the coffee machine and breakfast buffet was topped-up, kitchen orders taken and tables cleared. They were all efficient.
  : The shower door doesn't close properly so the floor outside the shower door got very wet - small problem.

  : The view from the pool and the restaurant is amazing.The indoor pool is accessible 24h/24h and heated. It's nice to take a swim there during the night.For the breakfast, you can order specials dishes when you're getting seated.
