The Hotel Michel Trama is located in the medieval city of Puymirol near Agen and its airport at the confluence of Mayenne and Gascogne. The top interior designer Jacques Garcia has completely transformed the hotel into a theatrical setting with baroque luxury. 10 rooms or suites welcome you in a XVIIIth century's inspiration style.

All rooms offer a country view and private bathroom in a high comfort. Sofas with lion paws and oriental charms sit contentedly beside velvety wall hangings. There are two other major reasons why you should stop here : the region is one of the most beautiful parts of France.

: BREAKFAST IS A SORE POINT WITH THIS HOTEL AND MY EXPERIENCE
: THE HOSTESS/MADAME OF THE ESTABLISHMENT. RUDE. UNOBLIGING AND VERY UNWELCOMING. SHE DOES NOT LIKE HAVING GUESTS, IT SEEMS TO BE AN UNNECESSARY EVIL. I will never recommend nor re-visit this Hotel. We had a lovely dinner at the Le Poule restaurant. The next morning we ordered a cup of coffee and a croissant each. At check out, we were presented with a bill of 29 Euro each for the coffee and our croissant order. I queried this and Madame did not have the courtesy to come and talk to me, but rather used her staff (staff are lovely and friendly) to argue her point. Out of principle, I cannot pay 58,Euro for 2cups of coffee and a croissant and was adamant not to let her get away with such charges. Needless to say, it was an extremely uncomfortable situation that ended in her capitulating (begrudgingly) to a lower yet unprincipled charge of 20,00 Euro.

: We booked an establishment normally beyond our range as a 'Splash out' two day stay. Everything was superb, as one would expect at this price. The added luxury of an excellent room,with a welcome nightcap more than met our expectations. You just could not fault the decor. In fact it's a 10 out of 10 sort of place for service attention to detail etc.etc However - - - -.there it stopped for me.
: The wine list was exceptional and equally extortionate. 97 euros for a run of the mill red wine and that was the cheapest as the 70 euro one was probably conveniently out of stock. Dinner at 75 euros per head was just plainly over priced and with very small portions. Breakfast would have been good value for money at less than half price. The insult was the price of the malt whisky, at 30 euros for 4 cl it equates to 525 euros a bottle. I like to spoil my wife with a little luxury now and again but quite frankly this is taking the Michael. Inspite of all this, the bill was higher than expected so I checked it and found an extra nights charge. 220euros worth. My recommendation therefore is: if you can afford this kind of luxury - - check the bill on departure.
