Zannis Hotel

Wonderful
Traveller Type: Family with Young Children
: Good-sized pool and the temperature of the water is perfect. Only a few meters from a very nice beach. Parking nearby for 5 euros per day. The apartments are quite modern and the AC and fridge work very well. There are some very nice restaurants nearby, which offer better food at lower prices than the ones in the town centre. It is possible to walk down the promenade to Rethymno downtown, but check the distance first if you are not very fit.
: There isn't much space in the apartment. It was hard for us to sit at the table at the same time to have a drink or something. The view from the balcony wasn't very nice.

Very Good

: Zannis hotel was very good value for money, with a good sized room, nice clean pool and excellent location a walking distance from the main part of Rethymno town and across the road from the beach. The manager was helpful when I encountered an issue (which was not the fault of the hotel).
: The facilities and room were clean but basic and no frills - but this is obviously to be expected for the price. The atmosphere left something to be desired - very quiet. The staff were not overly friendly or helpful and at the beginning of our stay we thought they were a little rude, but the manager turned out to be a lot nicer than we originally thought, maybe just a slightly different style of hospitality than we were used to.

Wonderful
Traveller Type:
: Very clean and quiet hotel close to beach.
: Would have been nice to have more dishes and some basic stuff for cooking (salt, pepper erc.) Since many visitors supposingly leave those behind.

Pleasant
Traveller Type:
: The room was equipped nicely with furniture but nothing over the top. The pool is nice and small, and even in August there was not a fuss.
: The two guys that work at the reception are creepy and wouldn't recommend it for a stay if you're under 60 or you feel like that. They are constantly watching you, as the hotel and reception is small, they take your key every time you leave the hotel, but in a creepy way. I would not stay there again. Especially traveling with as two girls.

Disappointing

: Good location near beach. Nice small pool.
: No wifi when we were there. No mobile signal in the basement rooms. Dated rooms.

Wonderful

: had everything one needs; exceptional staff; close to the beach
: quite far from the fortress and the old town

Wonderful

: The location was fantastic, about 50 yards to the beach and close to lots of restaurants and shops. We did not have to enter the rest of the hotel to reach our self catering apartment which meant we could come and go as we pleased. Air conditioning was brilliant and the facilities in our room were perfect.
: The beds were quite hard which was ok for a couple of nights but after 2 weeks was very uncomfortable.

Very Good
