  : It's a proper tourist trap. Breakfast was cheap: the bread was more cake with seeds and the "fried" bacon was at least a day old and very leatherly. We paid way too much for an ensuite. The ensuite was a shower cabin with a toilet installed in it. It smelled of mould. Before taking a shower you had to move toilet paper, bin and toilet brush out as it would get soaking wet. Toilet visits had to be planned carefully.When speaking to the management, the guy told us cynically that when you book at this place, you also book the "prison experience" Wish this was stated more clearly when we booked or we wouldn't have stayed here. We left a day earlier as the surroundings were just too depressing for a holiday. The manager refused a refund for the last night, confirming our suspicion that he just wants to make as much money as possible out of this building and is not very correct towards guests.It states it is a hotel, but it's more like a hostel and not a very good one at that. If you visit Ribe, which is a charming place, there's better accomodation out there than this.

  : Central location, free parking not far away. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom, good beds. Good shower too and all you need for a couple of nights is present. Possibility to stall bicycles in the enclosed garden.
  : The room is very small, but you now this in advance since it is a former prison.

  : This hotel is in a prime location. You have a view of the old Dom of Ribe. It is very interesting that is in an old prison. It still smells like one, it feels like you can stills smell the sweat from the prisoners 100's of years ago. We stayed in the supervisors room and there was no mould and it was very clean, it was hot though and only 2 small windows could open. There is not a lot of noise from the street. The sheets are clean. comfy beds The bathroom is clean and did not smell funky (we stayed in de supervisors suite, private bathroom) We did have a family room and it did have everything.
  : - The check in is very impersonal. You have to check in at a near by restaurant and then you don't see any staff for the rest of your stay. They even called me to make sure I had checked in !? - The place is outdated, the electricity cables are visible (from tv), the windows are old and some windows are glued shut, which adds to the odd smell. it needs and update. You feel like some one else is running the hotel now and they are just doing the mere basics (the terrace is closed, the restaurant is closed, there is an open bar...) - The breakfast is basic, the breakfast room is very warm to eat, again you hardly see staff - value for money is VERY poor, i guess you pay for the prima location.
