(They call a Nespreso machine/ electric kettle for tea, breakfast.)Mini fridge not turned on, only stocked w water.No blanket, only sheet, and I returned after 11pm so no staff available to assist.Elevator/lift barely functional minutes on end waiting.Restaurant recommendation by reception staff was HORRIBLE: my classic Roman dish was prepared by a talentless chef who clotted the pecorino, the whey pooled in bottom of bowl, and he left out the pepper,(Cacio e Pepe.)Reception closes at 11pm. Self entry w room key.Reception staffed by only one evening employee who was called away before I arrived I walked into an unstaffed desk, waited five minutes, tried calling from my phone.Garbage outside of hotel doors on sidewalk.Relative to the Hotel San Anselmo where Id stayed earlier in week, the cost-value ratio was much too high.

  : It was clean and had good toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. They give you slippers. The room was quiet enough. The location means the restaurants around are cheaper than in the city centre and there are several very nice ones to choose from in the same street. Walking distance to Roma Termini, which was great for us.
  : We were there 20 years ago and it was a really glamorous, proper 4 star hotel with a lovely bar and breakfast room, 24 hr staff in suits, elegantly decorated rooms etc.. Now although it is still a 4 stars in our opinion it is a very different story. Rooms are okay but nothing to do with what they were and we did pay for a superior room. No reception between 11pm and 7 am. No bar, just a vending machine next to a very uninviting space, where the bar used to be. There are tea and coffee facilities but they couldn't give us any milk when we asked for it, so that quite defeated the purpose of said facilities for us. Staff in reception (just the one) wearing a polo shirt. For us it is a shame how this hotel has changed. We weren't expecting this from a 4 star hotel. We might have chosen differently if we had known. But this is a very personal opinion. Our stay overall was fine. but it wasn't quite value for money.
