  : In my youth, backpacking and hostels went together. It immediately brings to mind memories of bunkbeds with many people in the same room, and often times some unsavory facilities. This place couldnt be more opposite; granted I paid for a private room with an en suite bathroom and was not in the bunk room, but this place is charming beyond belief. My room was clean, neat, and really nicely appointed. The Wi-Fi worked very very well.
  : I had called ahead on the day of my reservation, because traffic probably would result in me arriving past the 8 PM cut off for checking in. I called and spoke to Mike, who was very accommodating, gave me the front door code, and explained where my room key was. I actually arrived at 7:30, half an hour before the cut off time, and there was no one there. That, in and of itself, was not a significant issue, but the next morning, the place was completely empty, except for one patron I saw briefly and who subsequently left. It is important to note that coffee and muffins were posted as being available from 7:30 to 9:30. This was the time period when I was in the kitchen. In other places such as this, I have always seen at least one staff member who was willing to help if needed. There was a sign next to the muffins, stating if you wanted a gluten-free or vegan muffin, just ask. Given that I couldnt find anyone on the entire property, there was literally no one to just ask. All of this seemed really, really strange.

  : This is a pretty good place to stay. For a hostel - it's great. We travel a lot and stay in hotels that cost from $75 to $300. This is not a $300 place. But, its a great $100 place.
  : No breakfast? Also, no big deal.
