  : The location is good, although it is a block from the parking lot for the beach, not on the beach as suggested by the name and photos. The area is quiet and has a lot of other motels & inns and not much else.
  : From the photos and the name, I expected a quaint bed-and-breakfast style inn by the beach. This is a very serviceable and comfortable motel, but it is not particularly charming or luxurious. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom was small but clean and functional, and the staff were gracious and helpful. We had a balcony room, but the balcony was a fenced deck facing the parking area in back of an apartment building. While it was nice to have an outside space to sit, it was not somewhere you would spend a lot of time. While the Castillo Inn was a decent price compared to many other options in Santa Barbara, I expected more for the money.
