Motel 6-Santa Barbara CA - Beach

Disappointing

  : The location is good - walking distance from SB zoo, and a nice beach.There's usually enough parking (though entrance to the back parking is very tight).The pool was ok.Room seemed renovated.
  : Way overpriced compared to what you get from this motel.Our room wasn't cleaned even once during our 3 night stay.On the first day we were out all day, from 10am to 4pm.When I came back in I saw the room was not cleaned.Went to the office and asked about it - apparently you need to EXPLICITLY request for cleaning, but they promised they will send a cleaner asap.Waited by the pool from 4pm to 5:30pm - no cleaner came. After that we needed the room already, so went in to shower and only then (around 6pm) the cleaner finally came (but it was too late).Next day - even though the reception promised to "put in the computer" request for cleaning, same story - no cleaner came from 10am to 4pm when we were out of the room. Was already too tired to go argue about this with the staff, but this kind of service is ridiculous for a motel that charges 300$-400$ a night during holiday weekend.Seems like there's not enough cleaning staff, or they're just working too slow.Rooms are tiny.We had the quadruple room for 2 adult and 2 kids - there's barely any space to walk, and beds are tiny and do not fit two adults.There's barely any air coming in even though we tried to leave the window open (which is not easy since as a motel everyone walking by can see into the room). Some sketchy people were having a BBQ on the parking lot, which also created some noise and a bad smell (and there doesn't seem like there's enough staff in the motel to handle with any such issue).

  : The location was amazing!!! The decor was super cute and it was fun to find out it was the very first motel 6, I didn’t realize that when I booked! The room was small but super cozy!
  : There was only two towels and one hand towel and we heard a lot of people walking around and by our room. Also, light was coming through the curtains all night.

  : The rooms were super quiet. The rooms were smaller but very well designed and efficient. We paid a little extra to have a partial ocean view and it was worth it. Parking was free and the location was super close to the beach. The internet connection was great due to the fact that our room was located above the check in office. The area was safe to walk around and there were a lot of food options near by.
  : The staff was okay, not horrible, but not friendly or welcoming. Just a heads up that phone reception wasn't great in the area near the hotel.
