  : This apartment on the top floor of a beautiful villa, positioned on the banks of the Loire, overlooking Saumur and its chateau. The apartment is spacious inside and we had full use of the large, attractive garden. Our kids loved exploring the garden with its nooks and crannies, sheep, cat, dog and 200 year old tree (can be seen from the chateau!). The apartment comfortably slept 5 of us and we enjoyed the view of the sun setting over the river out of our dining room window as we ate dinner. It was an easy walk to Saumur and nice restaurants. Our host was very welcoming and informative. The apartment has the character of the old villa, with a four poster bed and some antique furniture, giving it a shabby chic appeal.
  : The kitchen was ok for our 2-night stay but self catering for longer would have been challenging - could benefit from a little more crockery etc. The shower over bath is quite old school and not to most powerful but plenty of hot water. Id say the relative expense of this place is money well spent for the views and location. But dont expect all mod-cons.

  : Wonderful views across the river. Very kind and helpful owners. The boat provided all the facilities we needed. The beds were very comfortable. Parking was convenient and secure.

  : shower head not flexible enough to keep water within the confines of the shower cubicle; no shelf in shower, no shower gel or shampoo; electric kettle did not work; some electric outlets did not work

  : Lovely location, right on the Loire with a spectacular view of the Chateau and the old town. A short walk across the bridge to get to the old town center. The property is fully fixed to the shore so does not move with the water. It has all amenities a fully stocked kitchen with stove, coffee machine, pans, plates etc; shower and toilet etc, beds were comfortable.
  : At the end of summer, there are millions of little flying insects on the Loire it is unavoidable to have a substantial quantity of them in the property if you open a window or door as there are no fly screens. No mosquitoes though!
