  : How it looked, location, staff.
  : Aged and rickety. lack of amenities: breakfast was a pitiful joke. You get a better free breakfast at Super 8 or other bottom tier hotels.

  : The room was small but well equipped. There was a restaurant which was essential as there was no restaurants near. Pretty good food and very friendly helpful restaurant staff
  : Asked for more coffee for 2nd morning and didn't get it. Had to ask again. Fairly pricey for the area. No breakfast with room.

  : It truly is a beautiful hotel. Beautiful view of the river and bridge. Clean and comfortable. Friendly atmosphere.
  : The person who checked us in was training someone. She seemed to have a very condescending attitude towards the trainee and the guest. The amenity soaps and shampoo bottles that are on the shower wall were empty, as well as the hand soaps in the common area bathrooms.

  : Bright, airy renovations. Our room was on second floor in older part. Great sleep - comfy bed and good temperature control in room. Breakfast was fine (yogurt and fruit). Understand they are short staff snd that was evident in some odd ways - no soap in room snd solving that took a long time, no one at front desk or in dining room in the morning. People were in the building, but covering multiple jobs, I think. Friendly staff. I would not stay any other place - its right at the Pettus Bridge and the NPS interpretive center.

  : I found that neither of my lamps on the bedside tables was working nor did the soap dispenser in the tub have any soap in it. Engineer rectified the lamp problem.
  : I wish there was a bar in the bath tub wall to use to get up and down. I wish breakfast was served and there be more than one server. I drink milk in my tea and server had to go in the back for the tea and forgot the milk.I don't know where the pastries came from shown in a case but they look AWFUL! Maybe someone local could bake good muffins and scones. I opted for the oatmeal and the poor server had to get hot water from the back again. Perhaps it could be set up in a crock pot with milk, sugar, bananas for sale etc during cooler weather.

  : I liked that everything was so clean the room was very nice the scenery was beautiful and peaceful
  : I didn't like that the room didn't have enough lighting and it didn't have a refrigerator or microwave but other than that it was perfect for my company trip

  : The young ladies at the front were very pleasant. I've stayed at the St. James before and the front desk staff is always nice and professional.
  : I reserved two rooms. One was dusty and had spider webs in the corners and the other hadn't been cleaned at all. We had to wait about 30-40 minutes for the room to be cleaned. The housekeeper had a bad attitude and didn't ask her to clean both rooms just the dirtiest and I cleaned the other but the rooms should have already been cleaned before we arrived. The dirtiest room a horrible smell like the carpet needs to be cleaned. Next time when visiting Selma I think I'll look at other hotel options.
