  : Location. Nice bar. Comfortable bed.
  : When we came down for (continental) breakfast (not very late) we tended to find much of the food already gone with little or no replenishment. On one morning one member of staff actually commented (laughing) that other guests had been in already and taken two or three croissants each. It’s not your job to manage their behaviour but to find no croissants, little or no toast was rather annoying. We gave up and had great breakfasts at Café Rouge!

  : The staff were very friendly and professional.The beds were comfortable.The location was in a quiet area but also close to everything.
  : The place is a bit tired. The windows were high up so we couldn’t see out. The bathroom window was screwed shut so we were limited for air. Breakfast was alright. No cups, so we were given paper ones. The hot water was from a ‘pump flask’ so was just warm and tasted of coffee.

  : The room was unique, comfortable and had a lovely bathroom with a great shower. Ideally located for everything I wanted to see. Staff very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty limited; I paid for something different, which was very nice, as was supper the previous evening.
  : Limited choice (though ok quality) for the free breakfast. No jam for the croissants and poor coffee. But the extra that I paid for was great. The parking did not go well - I read on the hotel’s details that it had no parking but I could park in nearby Church St car park - this is either not the case (it is “private”, if you go in you won’t be able to get out again) or the hotel should have given me a code? But if so I didn’t know and wasn’t asked if it was needed. The machine took my money so I assumed it was ok but then had to persuade a resident to let me out. Very embarrassing. Best park elsewhere.

  : Location is perfect
  : Rooms very dated and in need of refurbishing. Carpet in main hall worn through. Bed linen wasn’t clean, marks on quilt cover. I’ve stayed here previously and the staff were a lot more welcoming on previous stays than this time. Breakfast was a lot less choice this year too. No bread/toaster available and had to ask for fruit salad to be refilled and hot water tank as both were empty.

  : Very central. Walkable to everything.
  : A few strange things. Couldn’t put food or drinks on the room bill even though we were staying there. The room had rusty metal in the bathroom and mould. TV remote didn’t work. All a bit shoddy.

  : Great location. Friendly welcome.
  : The heating was on when we got into our room. It was boiling, obviously turned off the radiator but it was so hot in the room ! For some reason we were given a disabled room. There was a wet room. Got to be honest, it wasn't clean. The sink was dirty and there was a lot of long hair on the floor. We both have short hair, so not ours ! The tiles had black mould on the grout. Not the best.
