  : Quiet setting, checking out early!
  : Many, many things - the smell, previous users items in cupboards, nowhere to dry towels, the flies, the steep bank to access property, microwave that had no markings so unable to use!, rubbish and dirt under sofa cushions, shower door came off as it tried to exit, hot tub jets loose. Scissors missing from inventory, didn't check every item. Broken blinds. Pet hairWish I'd read the reviews first.

  : The location is beautiful,
  : The first property we entered at 5 to 4pm was disgusting it had not been cleaned and even had the previous persons toothbrush still in the Pof in the bathroom. The microwave, cooker and freezer were awful. When we were moved to a different property which was called an upgrade, it was still disgusting and the Hot Tub was not working which was the whole reason we booked the break in the first place. We also had no hot water on the first day as the boiler had turned it self off. The owner of the property snooped through our documentation we had left whilst out and was rude over text as she didnt like being told that there was any issues. The bedding needs a good wash, full of stains. TV could only get Netflix etc not standard TV. The door was broken and had to screw button back in to get it shut.. I have videoed the hot tub not working and the hill she expected to watch up in the dark to have use of a different one. Which we declined on second night as the whole point is to be able to relax and we couldnt And there was many other points I may have even forgotten. Its a shame as the place could be very nice if it was loved and a full deep clean was done.

  : For 3 nights the lodge was a great place to stay. It was clean and very comfortable. It was so peaceful and the beds were so comfortable we slept really well. The lodge does need updating but having 2 dogs with us it was ideal considering the weather was so bad. The lounge was comfortable and relaxing and the bonus was having the Hot Tub which was turned on clean and ready to use which we did. The surroundings are lovely, with a garden, table and bbq for the summer months.
  : I gave an 8 for 3 reasons, firstly it was dark when we arrived and it is literally pitch black and very difficult to find. Its not marked on the main road at all, we actually just managed to stumble across it and pulled into the cottage at the bottom who the owner had to explain where we had to go. Secondly its a very steep rocky driveway to get up to the lodge and there were no lights on the drive or up at the lodge either. It was torrential rain when we arrived and the area was water logged. It was hard to see where to park in the dark to miss the puddles. At the foot of the ramp to the lodge there was a massive muddy puddle which was unavoidable to step into so we had to carry the dogs in and we had to keep jumping across to try and avoid the mud which was extremely hard for my elderly parents and the wooden ramp was also very slippy. It was unfortunate that we had this rain non stop for 3 days but graveling the area or extending the driveway gravel up to the ramp would at least stop the muddy puddle forming and walking it all into the lodge. Also there definitely needs something like tarmac strips adding to the ramp which could avoid a nasty slip. It would also help to have some sort of pathway to the hot tub even rubber mats as it was just a muddy water logged garden. Lastly there were no complimentary toilet rolls, soap or washing up liquid provided. This caught us out because other lodges weve stayed in theres usually always miniature soaps and washing up liquid provided. Other than that we would stay again in the summer months because we loved the area and we were very comfortable there.

  : well kitted out, plenty of cupboard space. having two toilets is handy. good location for exploring into exmoor. nice quiet secluded location

  : The owner was friendly on arrival and did try to get ramp repaired sooner.The view was lovely .It was a peaceful location.Beds were reasonably comfy and had mattress & pillow protectors.Good location from which we could go on day trips to beaches, villages, countryside.Reasonably clean. Fair size lounge area but rest of lodge very small .
  : Advertised 2 bathrooms - complete lie, just a tiny shower room and then a corner toilet room next to main bedroom which was pointless as the toilet was not working properly, not enough water pressure to flush it (reported to owner) Shower door not safely secured at bottom.(as commented by previous guest)Front left oven ring damaged , dangerous to use . (as commented by previous guest)Right hand plug socket for kettle not working but not taped over , dangerous.Advertised patio but table just on grass .Ramp collapsed on Wednesday(as my husband stood on it) not repaired till Friday, had to climb along railing to get in and out of the lodge.Good job our party where all fit and not elderly!Freezer compartment over iced and smelt like beer had been spilt in it .Pull out basket cupboard in kitchen had food residue etc in the bottom of it . Twin bedroom only suitable as single , could not walk between beds .Literally a few inch gap!Wardrobe doors had the laminate peeling off so caught every time they opened .Bathroom smelt damp on arrival. Shower tray collected water , maybe drainage / plug hole needs checking / cleaning .Not able to walk into village as only busy road to walk along . Had to drive there . A lot of money was paid , over a thousand pounds for a week .Very disappointed that the lodge was needing T.L.C and lots of maintenance issues .Most disappointed that there were not 2 bathrooms . A COMPLETE LIE.. Advertised as shower room and bathroom with bath that had shower over it .There was in fact a tiny shower room and a corner toilet room with a tiny corner sink! Shocking that the ramp up to front door collapsed as my husband was stood on it , he's only 5ft7 and average build! Had to wait 2 days for it to be repaired .Really more like a static caravan with some wooden cladding on it !
