  : It was in a good location and the breakfast was nice (unfortunately they ran out of hash browns). We booked the three single bed room however they upgraded us for free which was lovely.
  : We are uni students so we werent as bothered about it being amazing standards but I didnt like the fact that the sheets had stains and I found a hair of some sort in the bed. Under the bed I found what I thought was an old french fry/chip I presume? The beds were quite hard and every time you used hot water or flushed the toilet it made an awfully loud sound. You can hear the music through the floor but that was not an issue for us as we went to the quayside festival and got back super late. The only things I would like to say are that the broken items like the shelf in the bathroom and coat rack could be fixed or cheaply replaced. The toilet could be boxed in to make it look nicer rather than having rusty pipes on display. The shower head could do with a clean as it had black mould around the spout - to be fair the whole room could do with a deep clean. It would also have been nice to have some shower gel or even a fresh bottle of water rather than a clearly old reused bottle. I would say it just needs updating both decoratively and hygienically.

  : Very unwelcoming. No notice about the live music until we were checking in or any mention about an extra 10 refundable deposit for the room key. The room was poor quality and seriously needs new electrics. We had the kettle plugged into an extension lead on the floor. Also the en-suite was in need of upgrade and had a macerator toilet which made awful noise and they didnt even provide a bar of soap. Other guests were so loud and banging on doors that woke us up and then shortly afterwards the fire alarm went off at 3am and nobody was in house to check on it. We couldnt get out of the room because the latch was faulty. We managed to use a teaspoon to lever the latch open and then after twiddling the key in the lock we got it to work and then left it on the latch. Also no fire evacuation procedures were available and nobody checked to make sure that the guests were safe. No apologies the next morning about the alarm or questions if we were ok. Breakfast was not the best. All fried and poor quality and we were told that we would be charged extra for a large breakfast! Really disappointed with the service and felt very uncomfortable with our stay. Didnt even get asked if we slept well (which obviously we didnt) would avoid at all costs!

  : It was really nice. Worth it for the price, nice staff, lovely breakfast. We all really enjoyed the time in Sailors Return. We stayed one night, but I recommend it.
  : Maybe for tall people it would not be very comfortable in the room we had but all of us did not have any problem with it so we managed anyway.

  : Needs a deep clean as sat looking at it put us off eating breakfast and the water in tea tastes awful was same when you in room so had to buy elsewhere

  : Room wasnt the cleanest, bathroom a bit tired had black mould and smelt a bit and dirty toilet brush which isnt nice to look at! Bed was really uncomfortable, soft and lumpy!

  : Shower and breakfast fine. Staff friendly.
  : Run down room, no wardrobe so nowhere to hang suit and shirt. just generally needed a lick of paint. And never had to pay a deposit for door key before and I have stayed in many BB in the area.
