  : For some reason I received more than 10 long email messages about our stay - mainly from Sykes cottages but also booking.com and from the owner. Far too much to read. And the info wasnt consistent. Very confusing

  : Not very much. We left before the end of stay. It was terrible.
  : When we booked our seafront apartment, the sea views being a key selling feature, no mention was made of the scaffolding which obliterated the view from almost every window. This was mentioned only once the booking had been made and paid for, a few days before our holiday, and hence we were committed and unable to book elsewhere. And yet this was not a last minute surprise for the owners. The documentation in the entrance lobby showed that this work has been known about since late 2022 The listing showed the elevation of the building without scaffolding. This is deliberately misleading. When we booked the stated checkout time was 11am. Once again, having accepted our booking and taken our money we were informed the checkout time was 10am. We were unable to sit in the lounge or master bedroom without the constant beat of music being played in the Neptune Bar on the ground floor of the apartment. We had no wish to endure this for a third night and this caused us to leave early. There was no mention of this noise in the listing. Finally the balcony area was in a shocking state, dirty and covered in debris.

  : Cairns Vista was a fantastic apartment. The views from the living space over the sea and the coastline was spectacular. From the balcony you can even see the Abbey which was great. And as we went during Whitbys Festival we had the most perfect view of the boat races and the fireworks. The apartment was clean, modern and fully kitted out (including a jacuzzi style bath). We wanted for nothing but the food we ate. The host left a lovely welcome pack and parking tokens which could be used within some certain zones in the surrounding streets. The location couldn't be better, it is on the north side of Whitby which allowed us to find parts of Whitby we didnt realised existed. Thank you for offering this amazing place to stay.
