  : Room was spacious and nice, bed was comfortable, shower was good, on site car parking, good cooked breakfast
  : Bedroom and bathroom could have been warmer, we asked for have the heating switched on to take off the chill, in the morning, but this did not happen.On the Sunday we returned to the room after a long day out, to find the lights on our floor were not working. After a while of struggling in the dark we found a lamp that worked, then to our amazement we could then see that the room had not been serviced. We rang the reception number and explained the issue, we were offered another room, but at that time of night to move all our belongings was not really practical, the lights were still not working the next morning when we left. And finally when we asked for another pot of tea at breakfast we received the same pot back with just warm water added - yukNone of these issues on their own are big, but we would have liked the opportunity to discuss these issues with a member of staff when we checked out, this was at about 10:30 on the Monday. Therefore we were left with our only option, that being to leave an honest review.This is a shame as it took the edge off what would have been a nice stay

  : The staff were very genuine, helpful and friendly, and we had an excellent breakfast from a good menu choice on both mornings of our stay. Our room was spacious and clean. There was lots of parking available at the property, and we were able to leave the car there and walk into Durham city centre in around 10 minutes (15 on the way back due to the hill!).
  : The bed in our room wasnt great, the mattress was very soft (personally not for us), and the headboard clunked against the wall anytime either of us moved.

  : Lovely old house great location, great staff lovely breakfast , clean and lovely bedrooms
  : The rooms we booked had low ceilings but were still great rooms with lovely decor and lovely views of Durham

  : Wonderful staff who looked after us and our 2 dogs.Excellent indian restaurant underneath the hotel who served the best Indian food we have tasted. Can't thank you and your team enough.

  : Friendly, helpful reception staff. Good sized, clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast. On-site parking a plus.
  : Fairly long (20 minutes) walk down hill to the centre. Best to catch a 5 taxi to return.
