  : Going home to get some sleep!Seriously, the views are amazing, but you dont need to stay in this hotel to experience the views.
  : If you like luxury hotels, friendly staff, air conditioned rooms, a quiet place to lay your head at night, gourmet breakfasts and generally good value for money, then THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAY!!Considering that this room cost us £395, I didnt expect to be charged £10 to have a cooked breakfast, nor did I expect to have to pay for parking. The room was small and claustrophobic, ridiculously hot, and considering that we aren't into the warmest part of the year, I dread to think what it would be like at the height of summer. There was no privacy outside our room, as there was no specific balcony area cordoned off for our use, so we had to lock our balcony doors when leaving the room, resulting in an oven type environment when we returned. To top it off, the fan for the kitchen came up in front of our room and was going until 10.30pm and then came back on at 5am. Its not often I go away looking forward to going home to get some sleep!!Before someone at the hotel responds to this message to ask why I didnt take this up with the staff at the time of our stay, I can assure you that on checking out and being presented with my bill for £395 for a 1 night stay, I asked the lady at reception 'Are you interested in whether we enjoyed our stay?' because most decent hotels will ask you this on checking out. I was met with a response that 'I could add my feedback in a review'. I find it astonishing that a hotel chain would want grievances aired on a platform such as this, rather than get to the bottom of it before the guest checks out. Looking at previous reviews, some of the issues we encountered have been commented on a number of times, but it appears that the management choose to do nothing about it. Service with a smile does not cost anything! It would have been a nice touch to refund car parking charges when paying nearly £400 for a room.Needless to say, we will come to Sidmouth again, but will choose somewhere else to stay.
