  : It was easy to get to, had secure parking, two blocks to ocean.
  : I travel to Pacific Grove for the peace and quiet a 2-3 times a year rather than the tourist-y atmosphere of Monterey. This is my first stay at the Lighthouse Lodge, and will be the only one. The pricing is similar to others in the area, but the facilities and staff were very disappointing. Here's why: The patio was a spot that opened to the parking lot so there was no privacy and was useless unless you like to sit on the sidewalk. The broken screen door to the patio wouldn't lock or open but repairs were done on a balcony above me (more later). Both windows had no view and didn't open either but the one in the bathroom to allow anyone in the pool area to see into the bathroom. A cheap plug-in room deodorizer which covered up the barely-clean room was unplugged the second day when I found it. Not being able to open windows, this gave me a constant headache. The dirty floor was discovered when I wiped up water from ADA shower and found the floor very slippery with the slightest moisture. There was a chewed-up floor lamp with the destruction turned towards the wall. Since people with pets have to put in a deposit and pay for damages I'm guessing someone pocketed the cost for the new lamp. I'm an animal lover so I feel for the pet who was probably left alone. On Saturday afternoon I was relaxing in my room when a balcony repair above me started (hammering, drilling, etc.) for about an hour. The staff did not express concern when I reported it immediately to the lobby. He only said he had to 'make the sale of the room'. I had no notice. There were guests in the spa after 10pm both nights loudly talking (my room was right next to it). The disabled room space was awkward (too open and floor of bathroom was very slippery when wet). The worn out barrier didn't work well. The below-ground entry door in back of building felt unsafe at night.
