  : When walking to the hotel I heard very loud karaoke style singing. Was shocked to learn that it was coming from the bar below the hotel I was staying. I queued for seven minutes at a busy bar to check in and had to shout that I had reserved a room. I was directed to the rear of the bar where I was checked in. I explained that I had driven five hours and needed to sleep as I needed to be up at 05:30, so asked when the singing would stop. I was told that their website and booking.com explained that they occasionally have live music. I had seen reference to music on Thursday and Friday nights. So I checked again and I was correct. I was staying on a Saturday night there should not have been loud music. I asked if I could have a room away from the music and was told no, my room was above the bar and above the singing. The person who check me in didn't offer any apology, solution or sympathy. My room was small, hot, tired and the fan did not work. I generally support independent establishments, but I would have preferred a franchised hotel chain over The Antelope. First impressions count and I won't be returning here.
