  : This is was our third holiday at Watchtower and will definitely be the last.The standards of cleanliness and attention to the detail that have made our previous stays so enjoyable were sadly lacking for this visit.On entering the property at 3.45pm I noticed what I thought to be just a small amount of dirt that had been missed by the entrance to the shower room but when I went to remove it I noticed that the floor in the room didn't look particularly clean so I proceeded to clean it myself. This took four attempts to get it to an acceptable standard. There was dirt and hair on the sponge I was using. Some of the towels had seen better daysWhen we went into the dining/sitting room all the dining chairs were upside down on the table, the carpet hadn't been hoovered and the settees looked as if someone had just vacated them. The carpet is stained in places and one of the settee cushions has a stain almost covering it.The flowers, which are normally fresh and beautiful looked old. I rang the housekeeper to see if she was returning to finish the cleaning and was told that she had seen to the settees herself and the flowers were fresh in the middle and the ones deemed fresh enough from the week previous were used on the outside. And no, she hadn't planned to return.We were a party of four but two decided not to stay.In the information folder it states that if there is any problems first contact Cornish Cottages. However the property isn't listed on their site so we contacted Sykes cottages who we booked through and asked them to contact the owner, stating that, as we didn't really want to leave a detrimental review would he please contact us. This was on the Wednesday but no contact was made.If the owner would like our photos to back up this review we can forward them on. Including photos of the flowers from the previous two years as when photographing our visiting cat the flowers are in said photos.
