  : The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Beautiful location - we loved being there in the "off season" and getting to experience Shelter Island w/o the summer crowd.
  : They should have down comforters on the beds during the off season. There was only a light quilt and no extra blankets in the closet. Also, a really bright outside light was left on almost all night and it shown right into our window (which didn't have any sort of blackout shade).

  : Cheerful staff were always present 'in background' to assist if needed, but the overall vibe of the Inn focuses on self-reliance in guests. Coffee available to early risers like ourselves is a valuable plus. The first floor / common areas are uncommon! The brilliance of the decor refresh still fresh. Breakfast offered something for everyone, with an emphasis on wellness -- we enjoyed the date-nut (?) bread especially. We had the best room of the Inn -- Room #1 with balcony overlooking Coecles Harbor. Everything Aandrea Carter's web site states is true. I wish the new management the best.
  : Bathroom fixtures and hardware -- once updated -- will close the circuit on overall excellence.

  : Beautiful location and grounds overlooking a bay; lovely bar and indoor, as well as outside, dining spaces. First rate staff. Dinner was ambitious and terrific.
  : Room was small and surprisingly run down. Toilet was ridiculously cramped. We had a large discount for the room, but it certainly wouldnt be worth the regular price.

  : Its a dump. Facility is long overdue for a major renovation. No a/c controls, tub doesnt drain and bathroom is old and dirty, walls are thin and you can here everything around you.

  : our room definitely needs a refresh. didnt mind it was small it was a good value for 1 night. however bathroom is shoddy and the space could use some nice accessories to give it some personality

  : The location was perfect. A grand inn located right on the water with a great private beach to comb for shells and heart shaped rocks. It was a gorgeous renovated 100+ year old building. But off season it offers very litte, especially food.
  : The moment we walked in the room it was WAY too hot so we had to put the fan on & open a window. Then the water for the shower was scalding in the afternoon & lukewarm in the morning. I loved the charm but it was missing some of the comforts of a hotel.
