  : The location is second to none, and we had a great view of the Porta Nigra from the room. Also, the beds were nice.
  : Difficult to communicate with staff forehand (long message through Booking,com in German, and no reply when we asked for info in any other language). Also, the place is clean, but feels unloved.

  : Central location right in front of Porta Nigra. The room was very clean and the Internet was high-speed. The owners were very friendly and supportive, they allowed us to keep our suitcase for a few hours until we return from a walk and take it to the railway station. Even though breakfast is not available in this hotel, the owners have a nice Chinese restaurant with delicious food right next door.
  : The bathroom door could not be locked, so we had to inform other family members every time it was occupied. The room was quadruple but had fewer towels and glasses available, but it was not a major issue. The receptionists did not speak but apparently understood English.

  : The room was clean and very modern looking. It had 2 nice big beds, free bottled water and a kettle for morning coffee. The bathroom was very nice and had a hair dryer and free toiletries. Overall we were very happy with our room and our stay in Trier!
  : We happened to be in Trier during a heat wave. There was no fan for the room and we had to leave the windows wide open all night. That would be fine but it is close to the market square and it was so loud all night from people and vehicles. The room was on the 3rd floor and really hot.

  : The location, next to Porta Negra, was incredible. The room, for a family of 3 was spacious.
  : The staff weren't very welcoming on arrival - and then they were completely absent, with nobody on reception, for our entire stay. We wanted to ask for a late check-out on the morning of departure, or to see if it was possible to look after our bags for a few hours, but we couldn't find anyone. The decor needs repainting (see picture).It's frustrating to be provided with a kettle, but no tea and coffee. Only glasses were provided, no mugs, so I couldn't even buy my own supplies. I would have expected tea/coffee in the room at a hotel of this price.

  : You need to know there are no breakfast opportunities, some litter left at the entrance in the morning, probably from the restaurant next door operated by the same group (opens too late for breakfast).
