  : So I actually bought this hotel from May 6 through the 10th and then again from May 10 through May 17th however, I noticed that many parts of the hotel are very dirty. So the first room they put me in, as soon as I got into the room I smelled a lot of marijuana smoke and I asked to be changed to another room because clearly someone was smoking weed on the premises closeby and it was getting into the room. I didn't want to smell that so I requested a different room and they move me to a room at the end of the hall. Even after moving me to the new room, I continued to smell someone smoking cigarette smoke in one of the other rooms. This was very confusing since they advertise that they are a non smoking hotel. The secondhand smoke would come in under the door of that room, and I would have to put paper and plastic under that gap in the door in order to prevent the smoke from coming in. It was horrible and it happened several times. I started to read the other reviews on this hotel, and I saw that someone noticed that there was no smoke detector in their room. I looked up to my ceiling and I saw there is no smoke detector in my room either. So I sent a message to the hotel owner and I said I noticed there is no smoke detector in this room and that's a violation of California law and also you have people smoking here routinely. It is a huge safety issue. In response to this, the very next day they brought a smoke detector and then the owner came and suddenly said I was causing problems. I said, how am I causing problems?? Because I told you that there's no smoke detector in the room? He said he didn't like the way I was talking to him and he said I had to leave and that he couldn't refuse service for any reason because he is the owner. All of this happened because he is angry that I called him out because of the smoke detector. This happened while I was in the middle of trying to take a nap and with no notice whatsoever.
  : This is one of the worst hotels I have ever been in it should not be allowed on booking.com because not having smoke detectors in the room, presents a safety threat to the guests. I heard them drilling into the wall, so I'm assuming that after I advised them that it's a violation of California law not to have smoke detectors that they got worried and decided to put them in. The owner screamed at me in the hallway and threatened to have me removed from the hotel all because I complained about the smoke and not having a smoke detector. If you value your safety and you want to sleep in a decent place, I would ask yourself whether this is a place you want to stay. I had just come back from spending two months in Dubai where the hotels are extremely clean and not only was this hotel extremely disappointing, the way they treat their guess, and the lack of safety, and the lack of compliance with California law is astounding. The room I was in also did not have screens on the window so if you open the window, you will have to contend with mosquitoes biting you.

  : Not much to like especially if you're dealing with the owner.
  : I was charged $30.00 for a key deposit , and when I checked out I was not given my deposit back, the room was not left a mess, and he tells me he put all cash in the bank. What kind of B/S is this ?
