Disappointing

  : The staff seemed nice.
  : Room smelled like cigarette smoke.We had our kids with us, we all woke up with headaches.We used the valet, we received the car with the seat all the back, speAkers blasting, like someone was hanging out in our Mercedes.

  : breakfast in the hotel restaurant was wonderful. location is great. hotel has a very warm, inviting, artsy and unique feel to it. this is my favorite hotel in NYC. will always stay here. just wish the room prices were a little less expensive. the decor and art work is so interesting.
  : my only complaint on this stay was that we had noisy neighbors. the rooms aren't totally sound proof, which is not unusual in an older building. these guests made it difficult for us to fall asleep. but other stays have been fine. no noise complaints.

  : The fireplace.
  : Never told of a wedding on the floor above us. We were on the floor that had the wedding guests, etc. on it. We heard the constant drone of the base and people dancing and stomping. Awful! When we told them about it, the hotel staff said it was ending, but then we came to find that they paid the band extra to extend the wedding reception. This went on until 1:30 am and then we had to deal with the drunken people that were staying on the floor yelling and slamming doors. We booked this hotel about a month in advance and paid a lot of money.
